PS3-mediaserver
This howto explains the installation and setup of the ps3mediaserver (Java Upnp Media Server, dedicated to PS3) on a linux-Xubuntu installation, to enable mediastreaming (like movies) to a Playstation3.
I took the Xubuntu linux, installed on the Acer Aspire as an example.
If you have all the media plugins installed you can continue with downloading the ps3mediaserver file.
On a fresh linux installation you need to install the Java Runtime Invironment first.
In Xfce you install the packet in >Synaptic Package Manager

Some extra packages will be auto-installed.

Download the linux version of the ps3mediaserver here:
http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/downloads/list
Unzip the downloaded file, open the folder and rightclick the PMS.sh file.
On the last tab >select>run as program

Now you can start the ps3mediaserver by clicking the PMS.sh file.
Then compare and adjust the settings as in the following screenshots:

Safe the settings and enjoy!
